We offer individual and group volunteer opportunities. Individual opportunities are limited but may include program support and administrative support. Group opportunities are more common and typically involve hands-on activities such as assembling food packs or other program supplies.

Yes, limited internship opportunities may be available. Interns may support one of our program focus areas: Community Resiliency, Financial Security, Healthy Community, and Youth Opportunity.

Once we receive your inquiry, our team will review available opportunities and determine whether a placement is possible. If a suitable placement is available, we will contact you with additional details and next steps.

Yes, all volunteers are required to complete a Volunteer Agreement and Waiver. Individual volunteers and interns must also complete a Volunteer Information Form. Depending on the responsibilities of the role, some individual volunteers and interns may be required to complete a background screening.

Individual roles are limited and may include supporting program activities or assisting with administrative tasks.
Most individual volunteer opportunities are designed to last 3–6 months, although we may be able to accommodate shorter- or longer-term commitments based on organizational needs and your availability.
General Volunteering Information

Group experiences are usually 1-2 hours in length and involve assembling food packs or other program supplies that support United Way’s community initiatives.

Group volunteer opportunities typically occur Tuesday through Thursday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at one of our partner school sites in Ontario or Chino.

Yes, we can accommodate groups larger than 10 people and/or events outside of the typical Tuesday–Thursday 10:00 AM–12:00 PM timeframe or at a specific location through a sponsored volunteer event.

A sponsored volunteer event is a customized volunteer experience designed for groups seeking opportunities beyond our standard offerings.
A sponsorship donation helps cover the program supplies and staff resources to coordinate and lead the group opportunity.
We handle the rest and work with you to design a project that aligns with your budget and impact goals.
