Founded in 1968, the Inland Southern California Crisis Helpline is one of the oldest 24/7 suicide hotlines in the country. It is a project of Inland Southern California United Way and Inland Southern California 211+’s Behavioral Health Department. As a nationally accredited crisis center via the American Association of Suicidology, the program implements the national crisis care continuum model of somewhere to call, somewhere to go, and someone to come to you.
By calling 951-686-HELP, a community member can reach a trained helper for telephonic emotional support, get linkage to a 24/7 Mental Health Urgent Care Center, or be routed to the Riverside County Crisis Mobile Unit.
In addition to crisis intervention services, the Inland Southern California Crisis Helpline provides community mental wellness, suicide prevention education, and bilingual community help promotion. You are not alone. Help is here!
COMMUNITY EDUCATION & Outreach
In partnership with Riverside University Health System Behavioral Health and Public Health, Inland Southern California Crisis Helpline offers free and evidence-based community workshops on mental well-being and suicide prevention.
Know the Signs is a statewide California suicide prevention campaign built on three key messages: Know the signs. Find the words. Reach out. This campaign teaches participants to converse with someone in crisis and where to find professional help and resources. Available in English and Spanish. In-Person or Remote.
An evidence-based course that teaches the public how to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. Available only in English and in person.
Riverside County Suicide Prevention Coalition
Inland Southern California Crisis Helpline is a proud partner of the Riverside County Suicide Prevention Coalition; a coalition working collectively in Riverside County to eliminate suicide deaths and suicide attempts and increase resources and support. Anyone who lives or works or worships or attends school in Riverside County may join here
An evidence-based Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training for caregivers who want to learn suicide intervention skills. Available only in English and in person.
An evidence-based training that prepares individuals to be more alert to someone thinking of suicide and better able to connect them with further help. Available in English and in person.
QPR Gatekeeping training will teach you how to Question, Persuade, and Refer someone who may be suicidal. This includes how to learn the warning signs of suicide and how to get help for someone in crisis. Available in English or Spanish. In-Person or Remote.
